Boarding passes please, the Agnes Olibhéar is about to depart...

Eoin Walsh invites travellers for a journey unlike any other - a voyage aboard his boat, the Agnes Olibhear, around the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Skellig Michael on the edge of Europe off the southwest coast of Ireland.

UNESCO says that Skellig Michael "is of outstanding universal value being an exceptional, and in many respects unique example of an early religious settlement deliberately sited on a pyramidal rock in the ocean, preserved because of a remarkable environment."

The Skelligs are two world famous tiny islands which lie 8.5 miles offshore south west of Valentia Island, Co. Kerry

Skellig Michael is the site of a archaeology splendid well preserved example of early Christian monastic architecture. From the boat one will be able to see the monastery, built in the 6th century, the original stairways and paths from that distant period. Seabirds of many species breed on the Skelligs during the summer including Puffins, Guillemots, Razor Bills and Gannets.
